Ingrid Chambas

Vice President of Aleph Wines Corporation, Columbia, SC

The smartest woman I know: My mom.

Words I live by: Life is too short to drink bad wine!

Right now I’m reading: Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential.  It’s a hoot!

I can’t live without: My cell phone-necessary evil in this business.

My mother always said: Love what you do for a living, because you’re
going to have to get up everyday and do it!

What keeps me awake at night: My Jack Russell terrier barking at the moon.

I am most proud of: My father—he’s my hero.

Last major purchase: My truck.

If I had a vanity plate on my car, it would say: “Wine Princess”

My family: My mother, Anita, is from Mullins, SC, and my father, Jean- Pierre, is from Cahors, France.   I have a younger brother, Jean-Phillipe.

My work: I am an importer and wholesaler of fine wine, beer, and spirits from all over the world. Aleph Wines is family owned. My father and I make all of the decisions—If we don’t like the product, we won’t sell it.

My first job: Cleaning stalls at the barn where I kept my horses.
