Tameika & Jamie

Tameika Isaac Devine practices law and serves on City Council.  Jamie L. Devine creates affordable housing.  They met during Tameika’s first campaign.  “She told me her man was the campaign,” Jamie says.  So he volunteered.  At her victory party, Tameika recalls, “he said, ‘now that the campaign is over maybe we can go out.’”

She says:
“It takes a strong man to be comfortable with his wife in the public eye. As a councilperson, I try to be a voice for all citizens of Columbia.  I hope to make our city and region a place that people want to live and raise a family.”

He says:
“I love Tameika’s smile, her vision and tenacity.  I enjoy watching her as she leads the city forward.  There is opportunity to develop more housing, especially for those with low to moderate incomes.  I would like to see Columbia be the great city it can be.”
