Sneak Peek: Dancing with the Stars

This weekend, some brave souls are competing on the dance floor to benefit cancer research and screening.

Among them is ABC 25 news anchor Shanai Harris, who from what we can see in these photos, is looking pretty formidable.

Her partner is a professional dancer from Vista Ballroom.  She’ll be competing against two doctors, one from Charleston, the other from Spartanburg.  We’re cheering for the hometown star to win.

Attend Saturday’s fundraiser for colon cancer research and you can not only watch the competition but also get out on the dance floor yourself.   The event starts at 6pm at the State Museum.  

Tickets are  $100 per person, $150 per couple and include cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. 

According to Dr. Frank Berger, director of USC’s Center for Colon Cancer Research,  "Contributions will go directly to education,screening and research programs in South Carolina."  Those incurring bruised shins or stomped-on toes should, however, be able to get medical advice from the doctors on the dance floor.
