The Goddess Issue
My idea of an inner goddess is a tipsy Dorothy Parker prodding me to ask, "What fresh hell is this?" Lucky for me, we have photographer Molly Harrell, whose generous spirit is evident in everything she does. "Take this," she said, putting a box into my hand as I left our photo shoot with Conscious Creations owner Tzima Hatsheptsut. "It's the Chanel No. 5 of incense. I'm gifting you." She also bought me a book on discovering my inner goddess, something I need to get cracking on. Molly's big on goddess power, and it gives her an edge. Every month, women we profile rave about working with her. It doesn't seem to matter whether they're used to being in the camera's eye - like former news anchor Susan Aude and Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter - or the type who avoid being photographed whenever possible: "I wasn't exactly in my comfort zone, but she made it fun." So thanks to Molly, I'm sitting on my porch, about to exit my comfort zone. As soon as I water the ferns, I'm setting fire to a stick of Chanel No. 5 (actually it's called Nag Champa), putting aside the Parker biography, and reading the first chapter of Let Your Goddess Grow! (exclamation point theirs, not mine).
