New Salon--not for hair

Women created the first salons in France in the 1620s.  Continuing that tradition, a woman is organizing Columbia’s Literary Salon.  

On Monday, 6pm, at Baan Sawan, Caroline Lord (publisher of Short Story) offers you F. Scott Fitzgerald expert Dr. Matthew Bruccoli, a one-year subscription to Short Story Literary Review, and 2 glasses of wine for the $10 admission.  

That’s a good deal all the way around, and if like me, you already subscribe to Short Story, Caroline (in photo below)  says you can give this subscription to a friend.

Dr. Bruccoli will speak about Fitzgerald’s short stories.  You can ask him about one of the best-known salons in history—Gertrude Stein’s—and if Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald ever joined Hemingway and Picasso for these gatherings at Stein’s Paris apartment.

Sam Saudom, who writes the entertaining beer and wine descriptions for Baan Sawaan, is helping Caroline put this event together.
