Happening This Week

One serious, one seriously amusing--here’s a reminder about two events going on this week.

Tomorrow, you can join The Summit on Women at the Columbia Convention Center. 

Topics range from women’s health, to finances, domestic violence law and political participation.  At least one woman has told me she’s going expressly to see Dr. Ann (at left), the nutritionist from Charleston.  Time, registration, speakers, agenda are here.

Thursday, fashion made of all things recycled takes the runway at the Columbia Museum of Art.  At last count, organizers of Runaway Runway tell me they have 84 entries--though it’s fair to expect that some of those might disintegrate or become compost before they can compete for the grand prize.

And one reminder you probably don’t need--today is tax day!  (Since it’s the end of the W. years, this could be your last chance to use “I misunderestimated how much time I would need” as your reason for filing an extension.)  File an extension online here .
