Corey Miller Reaches Out.

A college star.  Playing for the New York Giants.  Corey was living his dream, but a neck injury forced him to retire.  Depressed and struggling, Corey says he “got into the partying scene and that took me on the road to disaster.”

He credits God with turning his life around.  Inspired by his story, friends urged him to become a minister.  In 2003, Corey founded Giants for Christ Ministry.

He conducts services on Sundays and Wednesdays at his Parklane Road church. “I’m not your typical pastor,” he says. He seems most excited about taking his work beyond the pulpit--using rap to reach kids, riding his Harley with a motorcycle ministry.  Even his sports radio job, he says, is a chance to fulfill a bigger mission.

He’s forthright about his mistakes and the lessons he’s learned:  “People respond to the transparency.  Ministers struggle.  We don’t need to be all about condemnation.”

What do you like about reading skirt!?
“It’s pretty neat.  I’ve never seen anything like it.”

And wearing a skirt?
“I put that skirt on in my church and, standing up there, I now know how my grandmother felt when she was shouting and praising God.”
