Thank you, artists.

This is the third year I’ve bought art at Sistercare’s silent auction—so thank you Alicia Leeke and Mike Krajewski.  They (and quite a few other artists) give their work to Women After Five, an event that supports Sistercare.

I always feel like the one who’s getting the gift.

Because of Women After Five, I actually have two Alicia Leeke pieces with this new one (below right, forgive the reflection).  It’s a little painting of Devine Foods, a neighborhood restaurant.  She has quite a few pieces hanging at Frame of Mind on Main Street right now, if you want to check that out.

Photographer Molly Harrell took photos of the Women After Five event last night.  She told me one of her favorite things is to photograph women as they leave with their auction items, because they look so pleased.  Though everyone’s there to support Sistercare’s work, I guess these women are like me—they feel lucky to be going home with a prize.
