He's Earned the Right to Be Cocky-But Isn't.

Even before I saw this latest video, I knew that USC nursing professor Patrick Hickey was a good sport.

The man has climbed Mt. Everest, for Pete’s sake, and he agreed to summit Little Mountain in a skirt for us a year ago.

Now, Carolina alumni are getting an email in which the professor does a comic turn in fake snow.  I wish I could link you to the video, but I haven’t been able to figure out how (some kind of security thing).  Anyway, that he’s game to do it makes me admire him even more.

So, the Patrick Hickey video led me to the USC website, where I learned that Cocky is in the running for yet another “best mascot in the universe” kind of award.  You can cast your vote here. 

I did vote for the hometown mascot, but I’ve got to say, I might also sneak in a vote for The Tree from Stanford.  He/she/it’s got a pretty colorful story.  Watch The Tree in action here.
